In the trailer we see Alice wake up in a room. She is disorientated and we see flash backs appear on screen. She then gets killed but we find out this is a clone. The trailer the n moves onto a fast montage of action shots. This montage includes vehicles moving at high speeds, many zombies being killed and some man eating crows. The trailer ends with Alice surrounded by a fiery explosion and the title appears on screen.
This trailer is full of jumps which draws the attention of the audience. Sadly, the trailer builds suspense towards the end but fails to deliver a final jump, the trailer would have scored higher if a final jump was present. But, the trailer does clearly set the narrative, when going to watch the film, I knew exactly what to expect and the film lived up to the expectations gained from the trailer.
On the other hand, the trailer reveals slightly too much. Some of the main plot twists are shown in the trailer so when they happen in the film, it is no shock to those who had seen the trailer. There is also a lot of restricted narration in the trailer which means no gore is shown. The Resident Evil movies are not the goriest of horrors but they do contain some which makes it more enjoyable, by watching the trailer there is no hint that the film is going to contain any body horror.
Overall, I gave this trailer a 7. When making my own trailer I will make it a red band trailer so I can show a lot of body horror. I will also be sure to include a final jump at the end and clearly set the narrative.

Own trailer review: The Unborn (2009)

.Genre of trailer: Horror
This trailer starts off slow with various short clips of the film. We see Casey get attacked by a small boy saying 'He wants to be born now'and her eyes slowly start to change colour. She then finds out she is a twin. This is the turning point in the trailer as it starts to speed up. It moves onto a fast montage of shots wich include an attempted exorcism, various monsters and a lot of action. The trailer then speeds down at the end, preparing us for the final jump. One positive of this trailer is the final jump at then end. A lot of suspense is built up at the end and this trailer delivers a jump perfectly. Another positive is that this trailer uses parallel music as it goes from complete silence to a sharp loud sound. This helps deliver the jump. On the other hand, the trailer doesn't quite set the narrative. By watching the trailer I understand that the film is based on an unborn twin but that is all I can say about the film from the trailer. The trailer also takes too long to capture the audience. A jump is needed at the beginning to gain the audiences attention so they watch the trailer the whole way through.
Overall, I gave this trailer a six. I will include parallel music in my trailer to help deliver the jumps we include but I will make sure my trailer clearly sets the narrative so my audience knows what they are in for.
